About Tank Certificates

At time of manufacture a Qualified Surveyor appointed by the Regulatory Authorities supervises each tank through the production process; inspecting radiographs of the welds and witnessing the hydraulic pressure test of each tank. On satisfactory completion an Initial Inspection Certificate (IIC) is issued.

During a period of between the first 30 to 60 months of a tank’s life, a qualified surveyor, appointed by the Regulatory Authorities, surveys the tank for structural integrity and witnesses a pressure test. On satisfactory completion a certificate is issued, namely 2.5 Year Periodic Test Certificate and 5.0 Year Periodic Test Certificate.

During the operation life of the tank the current certificate is required to be submitted to the appropriate authorities.
